3 Minutes is Not a Long Time!

At today’s New Wave event, we got to hear 6 pitches from eager teams. In almost all presentations, the teams pitching went over the 3 minutes time slot. When pitching, we need to remember that it is not about telling your whole business plan but to intrigue the audience with important hightlights. You don’t have a lot of time!  The purpose of a good pitch is to get your message across to your audience.  Essentially, you need to make your audience give a s##t about your business. A good pitch is all about passion, grabing attention and a result to action.   The main goal is to be memorable.

Presentations skills makes or breaks the pitch.  Make sure you are fluent, to the point, clear, and being entertaining doesn’t hurt.

One good tip that comes from an Aaltoes Team member is to videotap yourself pitching and sending the video to your friends to give you feedback.  This is an excellent way to get criticized in a nice way and to make your pitching presentation stronger.

The bottom line: The more you pitch, the better you get.
