Introduction:

The fair was run for the first time in June 2009 with significant success (then known as the “Entrepreneurial Ventures Fair”).  Attended by over 200 people, with more than 50 MBA alumni and 20 startup companies, requests have been made from many quarters for the event to be repeated.

Concept

We connect key communities from the entrepreneurial field and MBA alumni.  The event promotes entrepreneurial activity, bringing together people with common, keen interests.

Participating Communities

Entrepreneurs and their startups from a range of sectors, targeted to include IT, nanotech, design, healthcare, social entrepreneurship and other active sectors.

Progress is being made to build on the breadth of mix of the last event with more from the investor community and other companies with a keen interest to participate in the entrepreneurial arena.

Aalto Entrepreneurship Society – the first student-led society combining students from TKK, HSE, and TaiK who all share a passion for entrepreneurship.  Comprising over 3000 members, a large and active student content and members from other quarters, the society is based at the Design Factory, TKK, Otaniemi.

HSE MBA Alumni Association – represents the MBA and EMBA alumni of the Helsinki School of Economics, over 2000 alumni from the 25-year programme, comprising an international community of senior business professionals who are widely located.

Venue

The Design Factory, Otaniemi, a very active, new initiative of the Aalto University.

Style

Mobile evening event, “on the feet”, with plenty of time to move around, meet and mingle.

Drinks and snack refreshments.

Content

The event has an open layout of booths to allow for good mobility of delegates.  Entrepreneurs present their startups, and companies in associated fields present their services for entrepreneurship.
