A month back Aaltoes hosted a recap session on the legendary Silicon Valley Tour. We heard some of the entrepreneurs traveling with us share their key insights from the trip. One of the very first Aalto Ventures Park startup teams, Futuuns,  made it yesterday to the final five of the Venture Cup Idea Phase. Our favorite audio production company is very excited about the victory.

- Obviously it feels good! To be chosen to top five from 227 participants is an outstanding result for us. The win gives us more confidence and works as a great motivator to the business plan phase of the competition, summarizes Kimmo Nurmisto from Futuuns.

Other winning projects include a mobile sauna from Sauna Savu (try out a prototype at Design Factory!),  photocatalytic coatings from Abonano, an innovative clothing solution Jolier ONE and a  fire eztinguishing solution from Cause. Venture Cup will continue in the spring with the business plan phase, which is open to everyone regardless of participation or winning in the idea phase.

- For Futuuns Venture Cup has been a great experience this far. The competition is a great opportunity to work on your business idea and get valuable feedback to it. Definitely worth participating. We are already working on the business plan phase and we’ll surely be ready to deliver our best on 10th of March next year, Kimmo concludes.

Futuuns is one of the twelve business ideas that are up for a prize in the Venture Cup Business plan competition 2010. Futuuns has been one of the Aaltoes accelerated teams, taking part in both Aaltoes Pitch and the Silicon Valley Trip (be sure to read their blog). Being one of the first startup in the Aalto Ventures Park,  we have big expectations for the up and coming audio production service. Go Futuuns!

Futuuns got chosen to the top 12 from a total number of 227 participants. Five ideas will be rewarded on 16.12. after the teams have had a chance to pitch their ideas to the referees. The judges concentrate on innovativeness, growth potential and realistic implementation.
