Aaltoes back in the Valley

Aaltoes back in the Valley

An Aaltoes team on a plane...

On the 5th of March an Aaltoes team of four left for a visit to the wonderland of startups – Silicon Valley.  We will also be in San Francisco and Austin, Texas for the massive SXSW.

The schedule is both hectic and loosely enough planned to leave useful time for connecting with some of the top people from realm of entrepreneurship. Also, Stanford has a few objectives for us. Their ecorner kind of approach to video content has been something that Aaltoes has wanted to adopt for awhile; this time we decided to take action. Thus our group was joined by Lauri from Media Lab to absorb the wisdom behind the ecorner. An excellent opportunity for getting insight into such a service is granted by the Stanford Entrepreneurial Thought Leaders Seminar series (ETL).

While in Frisco, we’ll also meet some of Startup Life interns from this spring’s batch, for further insights on developing the program. We will conducts some casual interviews and shoot some video with them for the up and coming batch to see what Startup Life is all about.

Overall with huge events happening this year, a lot key players and speakers are in demand. Consequently during the four days in Frisco we’ll also try to meet as many Without further elaboration it can be revealed that this year one week will stand out in particular.

After Frisco we will get a move on to Texas for SXSW Interactive. What a better place to spread the word, find more leads and do some serious benchmarking for the Aaltoes family. Especially with the upcoming Slush in mind. We will report in full from the event, no worries!

Naturally the stakes are high for our trip, and we will win big for Aaltoes.

Staying home with your ideas, passions and visions won’t get you anywhere. So as Mårten Mickos puts it: “Go big or go home!”

Stay tuned for more updates from along the way.

Signing out from a San Francisco basement,
Tomas, Riku, Atte & Lauri

At least Tomas had plenty of practice sitting in cramped, bumpy seat during the road trip to Riga. Hope the rest of you asked for survival tips ;)
